Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I've got a 15-dy 2000 machine running Windows 11 64, with Realtek RTL 8821 CE.

I'm having issues with wifi, mainly high latency and freezing at times.

I want to swap RTL 8821CE with an Intel one. Please guide which one will be compatible?

Thanks

You're very welcome.

Doing a search of other 15-dy2xxx notebooks, they either came with the wifi card your notebook has, the RTL8822CE (two antenna model) or the Intel AX201 which only will work in a notebook that it originally came with.

I am skeptical that the AX 210 will work since I could not find any notebooks in that model series that came with an AX210.

See if you can find a seller on the US eBay site that will ship the AX 200 to India.

Hi:

All the Intel dual band AC/AX Wi-Fi cards require two antenna wires to function properly and your notebook only has one.

Did you update the Realtek Wi-Fi driver to the latest version and see if that resolves the problem?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the quick answer and clarification.

Yes, I installed the latest driver and uninstalled and reinstalled it using the link you provided.

Still no luck. When checking ping through CMD, one will be very low, like 4MS, and the other will be 2000 + MS. Kindly see attached pic.

All other devices are working fine, so I assume that wifi card has gone badPing TestPing Test,

Can't I attach a second Antena and put it somewhere in case?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best

Sorry the driver update didn't work.

You can see if this model Wi-Fi card works in your notebook.

To add a second antenna wire, you can order the antenna kit listed in chapter 3 of the service manual and you would have to completely disassemble the notebook including the display panel area to properly install the second antenna wire.

The disassembly procedures can be found in the above manual.

If you want to forego the trouble of doing that, you can attach the single Wi-Fi antenna to the Wi-Fi cards Main antenna connector and the Wi-Fi should work OK, but you will not have Bluetooth, which works off the Auxiliary connection terminal.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the quick reply and for suggesting an upgrade.

However, in my region, AX200 isn't available.

I can get AX210.NGWG.NV WiFi Modules - 802.11 Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (Gig+), 2230, 2x2 AX R2 (6GHz)+BT, No vPro.

Will this work?

And yes, my priority is WIFI only; I can live without BT.

Once again, thanks for your help.
