HP Notebook 15-dy1086nr

good morning,

I would like to know if my laptop has a wifi blacklist. This because I would upgrade my wifi card to wifi 6e (AX210NGW) or wifi 7 (BE200NGW). I bought both card and I tried to install them adding two new antennas. For both card, once removed all driver , i installed last driver from Intel website. After that, I installed new card  and the system worked , I had wifi card recognized and working. After reboot the PC , the wifi was deactiveted and I was not able to activeted it. I tried almost everithing, even reinstall Windows , but wifi was still deactivated. I had the same problem with both new wifi card. Finally I had to reinstall the old wifi card and wifi returned to working . Any suggestion will be appreciated.

laptop :  hp 15-dy1086nr   with i5-1035G1 CPU   (purchased  on 08/22/2019)

O.S.    Windows 11 Home 64bit  23H2  ( upgrated from OEM Windows 10)

Hi:

If that is happening to you, most likely the PC only supports certain model Wi-Fi adapters.

Try this model Wi-Fi adapter which may have a better chance of working.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

It will still be a whole lot better than the RTL8821CE.

thank you for your suggestion.  But the strange thing is that both new wifi card were working fine untill I rebooted the PC. I will try the AX200 you suggest or even an AX201 wifi card. I will let you know if any works.

You're very welcome.

Don't try the AX201 because that card will only work in a notebook it originally came with, since it is a CNVi wifi adapter.

I bought on Amazon for 25 Euros ,  searching by P/N , the wifi card you suggested :

AX200NGW     no-vpro    P/n= L35282-005    TA=K34403-003

Today I installed the card and both wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 worked wery well with highest speed.  I have no issues rebooting the PC , wifi and bluetooth works , so I thing my PC has no wifi blacklist, I just bought the non supported wifi cards ( AX210 and BE200) . Thank you very much for your support Paul.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance, and happy to know the Intel AX200 card works fine.
