Hi @MTCERD,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- What is your HP laptop model?
- Did the Wi-Fi stop working suddenly, or after a Windows update or restart?
- Do you see any Wi-Fi networks at all, or does the Wi-Fi option disappear entirely?
- Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11?
- Do other devices (phone, tablet, another laptop) detect your Wi-Fi normally?
Troubleshooting Steps You Can Try
1. Restart your laptop
A simple restart can fix temporary network driver issues.
2. Check if Wi-Fi is turned off
- Press Windows Key + A → make sure Wi-Fi icon is ON.
- Some HP models have a physical Wi-Fi key or F12 key to toggle wireless on/off.
3. Run the Windows Network Troubleshooter
- Settings → Network & Internet → Troubleshoot
- Let Windows scan for wireless adapter issues.
4. Check Device Manager for Wi-Fi Adapter
- Right-click Start → Device Manager
- Expand Network adapters
- Look for something like Realtek, Intel, or Broadcom Wi-Fi.
- If it has a yellow warning symbol → driver issue.
- If it’s missing entirely → adapter may be disabled or faulty.
5. Update or Reinstall Wi-Fi Drivers
- In Device Manager → right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Update driver
- If that doesn’t help:
- Right-click → Uninstall device
- Restart your laptop (Windows will reinstall it).
6. Reset Network Settings
- Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset
This reinstalls all network adapters and resets to default.
7. Check Airplane Mode
Make sure Airplane mode is OFF.
8. Power-cycle your router
If other devices also have issues, restarting your Wi-Fi router may help.
I hope this helps.
