My brand new laptop was crashing my Bell router within minutes of starting up or just idly connected so not only do I lose my WIFI connection on this laptop I would lose WIFI connection on all devices running in the house. This is different from what I've been reading being its the Bell 3000 router crashing. I've been working with SmartFriend tech support for weeks now and have the latest driver Realtek RTL8852BE wifi 6 802.11ax dated 10/25/2024. The Bell modem is a model 3000 5Gz also brand new as Bell has replaced it to eliminate any malfunction on their end. The last change made by SmartFriend was to change the preferred band to NO PREFERENCE upon startup. Using the 5G FIRST or 2.4 FIRST was not successful and would disconnect the router upon startups and downloads. NO PREFERENCE has certainly improved the amount of time the router will stay up - being hours - but has not completely resolved the issue. The router itself will slowly shut down and reset itself during these crashes. SmartFriend is seeing other chat forums that may indicate there is an incompatibility between Realtek WIFI6 and Bell3000 5Gz. Still working with SmartFriend but any other suggestions welcomed.
