HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4V9AV)

Hello. I have been having a month-long struggle with network connectivity issues. My WIFI seems to disconnect randomly for a few seconds and then reconnect to my home WIFI. It does this every 2-10 minutes. This issue only arises when I am in battery mode for my laptop; when my charger is plugged in, this issue disappears. I've tried Windows support and gone through 3 different agents, but none of them have been able to solve the issue. This problem arose a month ago when I installed the new version of Windows 11 (24h2), and I suspect it might be Windows, but I am not completely sure. I've tried many issues ranging from reinstalling network drivers, changing network drives, and disabling proxy in the settings to many other solutions. All of my Windows and HP drivers are up to date. If someone else has this issue and solved it, I would love to hear it because this problem is quite frankly annoying. Thanks!

Hi:

See if installing the latest driver HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter works for you:

Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers

Version 2024.10.230.1

sp155768.exe

If that doesn't help, there is another driver you can try but I will have to give you the instructions to manually install it.

Hi:

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook have?

HP Recommended

Hello. It is a realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCLe Adapter. I think it should be this one.

Im guessing after I install this I would need to do a restart of my laptop?

I don't believe that you will be prompted to restart the PC, but it wouldn't hurt to do so.

Check the driver version and date currently installed and then verify it was updated to the latest version after you install the driver I posted.

I located it, and I think it's installed, but the last event says, "Device not started (RTWlanE)." Not sure if this is an issue.

I don't know what that statement means.

If your notebook is connected to the internet and working, then I wouldn't be concerned.

The main thing is: has the updated driver reduce or eliminate the problem(s) you're having?

HP Recommended

It is connected and working so far, but it might take some time to fully verify it as I am currently charging my laptop (the WIFI seems to work perfectly fine when charging). So I'll have to wait until I take it off charge to see if it's fine. I will reply to this thread once I get the results. Thanks for your help.

You're very welcome.

Yes, I understand that you need to put the wifi to the test for at least a couple of days of heavy use to see if the driver update fixed the problem.
