Hi all.

I am planning to upgrade my WLAN Module. User Manual says I can only use a 1x1 WLAN Module. Where can I find a WLAN Module that supports 802.11ac and bluetooth? I have been trying my luck on Newegg and Amazon, but couldn't find anything that helps till now.

Thank you in advance!

Hi:

The only card that I know of that might work in your notebook that meets those specs would be this one...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)    HP Part # L17365-005

The only place I have been able to find that card for sale is on eBay.   Do your search by the part number, not the model of the wifi card.

You mean the one shown here? It looks like 2x2... has 2 slits at the chip side instead of 1, which is what is shown in the laptop user manual.

Yes, I've seen that one before.

That is either the wrong stock photo, or the wrong card.

This is definitely the one I am referring to.   Note there is only one terminal for a single antenna...

So i have opened up my laptop the other day and installed RAM, and i took a look at the network card. It is the one witg 2 slots thingy at the side, so the picture you have provided me is right and the picture in my user manual is inaccurate.

There is another thing though: i have purchased an 802.11ac wifi and bluetooth combo card, but i just realised that the card has two antenna slots while my laptop only has one. If i am not going to install new antenna for this (don't even know how tbh), will this have any effect on my network speed?

Thanks!

You should have bought the one I recommended.

My understanding is one or the other will work fine...the wifi or the bluetooth, but probably not both.

I have purchased the particular one you mentioned after the one i bought has given me some problem, however there is a bigger issue. for the card that you have recommended, after i installed it, the computer will immediately not responding after i have connected to my house's wifi, without recovering even after an hour. is there a particular thing i have to do before installing the card?

Hi:

I'm surprised that happened.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the wifi and Bluetooth drivers to their latest versions and see if that resolves the problem.
