Hello I would like to know if my notebook HP EliteBook 840 G3 does have an MobileWAN modem for Sim CARD ? Slot is on the right side, but ....
I have noticed in System Devices, that among devices, there is PPoP WAN device, but in HP Connection manager there is only Bluetooth, WLAN and LAN...
Should I switch this WWAN Mobile adapter thru a hardware switch or so ??
My model is:
HP elitebook 840 G3,
ProductID: T9X25EA#BCM
SN# [Personal Information Removed]
Warranty 3y3y0y
Thanks a lot.

Hi:
All 840 G3's have a SIM card slot. Most of them do not have the optionl WWAN card, which adds a huge amount to the cost of the notebook.
If you don't see a WWAN card to turn on by using the HP Connection Manager software, then your notebook doesn't have one.
In the device manager, under the Network Adapters device manager category, you can find the list of all networking devices present.
If your notebook had a WWAN card, you would see an ethernet adapter, a wireless network adapter and a WWAN adapter listed there. Your notebook only shows the first two devices.
Specifically, you would see either of these two models listed.

Hi Paul, thanks a lot for your informations. I have an further question.
Does this model have an WLAN HOTSPOT function ?
For example, I connect USB dongle (LTE modem) and than it will be possible to broadcast internet, thru WLAN from this USB LTE dongle ?
This function is common in Smartphones. (Mobile hotspot, Hotspot and so on).
Thaks for your effort.
