hello i bought this laptop and i found out that it doesn't come with 5GHz wifi support due to the wifi card that comes inside (Realtek RTL8723DE). I want to upgrade to a better compatible wifi card that supports 2.4 and 5GHz with a single antenna, but i am not getting a straight answer on which wifi card it will support. Can anyone please help me on pointing me to the correct path to purchase a compatible part.

Hi:
Since your notebook only has one antenna cable, you can do a direct swap for this dual band AC wifi card with Bluetooth...
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP Part # L17365-005.
That card has the same throughput as the RTL8723DE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, and 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router...150 MBPS with a dual band N router.
Unfortunately, that card has been on back order for months at the HP Parts Store, but you can find several of them listed for sale on eBay.
