HP Notebook

I have an HP Notebook with a touchscreen, with a Windows operating system (10, maybe?). This laptop seems to have Bluetooth built into it, however there is no on/off switch for the Bluetooth, and the computer can't detect my Cricut vinyl cutter that has Bluetooth in it. When I googled this issue, I read that the Bluetooth switch has to be on, but there's no switch in my Bluetooth settings! Someone please help me before I give this computer a flying elbow. Thanks!

Hi:

I have never heard of any notebook (HP or otherwise) made in the last 10 years that has a Bluetooth switch.

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.

Please do not post the serial number.

Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook.

It does not come with built in Bluetooth networking hardware, or that feature would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n (1x1) wireless connectivity specification.

Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook.

It comes with a Realtek RTL8188EE-VJ 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi adapter, which is a single band, non-Bluetooth wifi adapter.

The easiest thing to do to add Bluetooth networking capability to your notebook, would be to purchase an external USB Bluetooth adapter.

I use this one for example on 2 of my HP desktop PC's.

You can also upgrade the internal wifi adapter with one that is a combination wifi Bluetooth model.

Let me know if you want to go that route, and I will suggest a replacement wifi card, and give you the link to the service manual.

It is not a very easy procedure on that model notebook.
