Your machine is at least 12 years old, due to the whitelist the chance to upgrade it to newer wifi adapter is 50/50 to none. You should be able to use the following list

  • Atheros HB125 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter (select models only) part # 675794-001
  • Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 802.11b/g/n 2×2 WiFi and Bluetooth Combo Adapter  part # 670290-001
  • Ralink RT3290LE 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter (select models only) part #  690020-001
  • Ralink RT5390R 802.11 b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter part #  691415-001

My suggestion: Please use the following adapter or similar,

          https://www.asus.com/au/networking-iot-servers/adapters/all-series/usb-ac53-nano/

It works perfectly on my machine which is 11 years old.

Regards.

Hi, @ABman02

I am pretty sure that the g6/& g7-22xx and 23xx notebooks do not have BIOS whitelists.

I believe that either one of these model Wi-Fi cards would work in your notebook:

Dual band AC:

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo   HP part # 724935-001

Dual band N:

Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter  HP part # 730668-001

Here is one such discussion which shows this to be true.
