I bought a new HP laptop relatively recently and have discovered that it will only locate my wi-fi network if I switch the router to the slower 2.4GHZ setting. Is this really all that the HP Laptop 15-db0xxx is capable of or do I need a new driver for it? It's odd because my three older computers have no problem accessing my router when it's set at 5 GHZ, so I'm surprised that my newest computer can't locate the router when it's set at 5.
Situation is deteriorating. Tonight the HP Laptop cannot locate the router whether I set it at 2.4 or at 5 GHZ. Is there some trick to getting the HP Laptop 15-db0xxx to find my router? My other older computers have no trouble finding my router. Thanks.

Hi:
What model wifi adapter does your notebook come with?
If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.
