HP Recommended

my Wi-Fi adapter is missing. I’ve tried every single thing to fix it that everybody has recommended nothings working. The Wi-Fi keeps coming back but then off, but it doesn’t let me choose an actual Wi-Fi not my houses and not even my hotspots. it keeps saying that my only option is an ethernet but I do not even have an ethernet port on my laptop. I’m starting think this is a lost cost, and I really cannot afford to buy another laptop or take it to get checked. It’s literally just missing and when it does appear, I cannot connect to a Wi-Fi. This is very frustrating if I could get some help that be great.
