Hello. I decided to replace WLAN Card: Ralink RT5390 with Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (670290-001).

IMPORTANT point - Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (670290-001) is listed in the manual for this laptop model as SUPPORTED! But after replacing it, I still got the "Wireless Module not supported" error. BIOS F37

Hi:

I don't know where you found the service manual you referenced, but this is the correct manual for your PC.

It does not show that the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 Wi-Fi adapter is a supported model.

Also, normally the only Wi-Fi card(s) that will work in your notebook are those shown in the parts list.

It shows only one model Wi-Fi card (RT5390).

Only the CTO (configured to order) g6-1b0xx notebooks would support more than one Wi-Fi card.

Usually, the RT5390 Wi-Fi card doesn't work in W10 (it disappears from the device manager on the newer builds of W10), so you could experiment with one of the other cards, but you must make sure that it has the HP part number on the label or it definitely has no chance of working.

Personally, I don't think any of them will work and suggest you purchase a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter.

Ok, then why is there more than one Wi-fi card listed in the manual?

RT5390 works fine on win 10, but I need bluetooth. The option with usb bluetooth is not suitable because the usb port is quickly getting weak with constant use.

That is because the service manual is for the entire g6-1xx model series, not just your specific model, and different g6 models came with different Wi-Fi cards.

There is a BIOS whitelist that blocks the installation of any card not cleared by the BIOS from working.

Also, looking at the list of Wi-Fi cards in the manual, they are so old, it is doubtful any of the Bluetooth versions the cards come with are supported in W10.
