Hi @Gold716,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop is missing the Wi-Fi adapter, and only Bluetooth is showing up. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this.
Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Look under Network adapters to see if the Wi-Fi adapter is listed. If it's not there:
- Check under Other devices or Bluetooth.
- If there is an exclamation mark next to the Wi-Fi adapter, it could indicate a driver issue.
Reinstall Wi-Fi Drivers
- In Device Manager, right-click the Wi-Fi adapter (if visible) and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers for the Wi-Fi adapter. If it doesn’t, visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your laptop model.
Check the Wireless Switch
- Some laptops have a physical switch to turn the wireless on or off. Ensure it’s turned on.
Enable Wi-Fi via BIOS
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter the BIOS.
- Look for a setting related to wireless or Wi-Fi. Ensure it's enabled.
Run Network Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click Network Troubleshooter to detect and fix any issues with your network.
Check for Windows Updates
- Sometimes, a recent update can cause network issues. Check for any pending updates that might address this problem. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Check the Airplane Mode
- Ensure Airplane Mode is turned off. You can toggle this in the Action Center (click the notification icon on the taskbar).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
