Hi @sushilkumar000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

From your description, it appears that the Wi-Fi connection works normally when a Static IP is assigned. Still, when the notebook is configured to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP), the connection becomes unstable, frequently disconnects from the SSID, loses internet access, and experiences inconsistent ping responses.

Since another notebook with a similar configuration is working properly on the same wireless network, we'd like to gather a few more details to help isolate whether this is a network configuration issue, a driver issue, or something specific to the notebook.

Could you please let us know:

  • What is the exact HP notebook model or product number
  • Is the issue occurring on multiple Wi-Fi networks or only on one specific network?
  • Have you recently updated the Wi-Fi driver, BIOS, or Windows?
  • What IP address does the notebook receive when using DHCP (if any)?
  • Are there any error messages shown in Windows when the disconnect occurs?

In the meantime, please try the following:

1. Update the wireless driver

  • Open HP Support Assistant and install all available driver updates.
  • Also check Windows Update for optional driver updates.

2. Update the BIOS

  • Install the latest BIOS available for your notebook model from HP Support.

3. Reset the network stack

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

                        netsh winsock reset
                        netsh int ip reset
                        ipconfig /flushdns

  • Restart the notebook.

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart the notebook.
  • Tap Esc repeatedly and then press F2
  • Run the Wireless Module Test and let us know the results.

5. Check the DHCP lease

  • Open Command Prompt and run: ipconfig /all
  • Verify whether the wireless adapter is receiving a valid IP address, gateway, and DNS server from the router.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
