Hello
I have recently upgraded my internet to 500 Mbps. I am getting slow speeds over Wi-Fi of no more than 70 Mbps. I tested with an ethernet cable and get around 500-600 Mbps. Therefore, I assume my Wi-Fi card is the issue.
I have the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 installed. Upon checking the specs for this card, I see that this is supposed to support up to 300 Mbps, But I am getting nowhere near this. I am close to the router so no issues there.
I have tried other suggestions of disabling the Bluetooth etc, but this only increases speed to about 95 Mbps. I assume my BIOS has a whitelist, so I cannot just get any new Wi-Fi card.
Some specs:
HP ENVY m6 Notebook
Intel Core i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
8GB Ram
Networking Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
BIOS Version F.25
MOTHERBOARD Manufacturer
Hewlett-Packard
Model 18A5
Version 73.50
Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-bit)
Version (Build) 22H2 (10.0.19045)
Any ideas or suggestions as to why this is happening would be appreciated.

I don't know what is your m6 machine. Form your information your machine has a 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapter. Normally you can only get 54 Mbps, not 300Mbps.
Looks like your machine is very old, its NIC supports 10/100 speed too. I don't know how old it is but must be around 10 to 12 years old (based on its CPU) therefore replace wifi card to a new generation is not an option. You can use something like

It worth every penny.
Regards.
