I am having a problem with the wifi on my All-in-one.

It is using a Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter with the latest driver.

I have a 900mb internet service and using an ethernet cable commection to the router get 540mb - however when I connect by wifi I only get 140mb.

I also find that sometimes when I select a link in my browser it takes a ggod few seconds to connect, and sometimes returns an error (not connected) and I have to reload the link.

Is this common to this hardware, or is there something I can do to improve the wifi connection.

Hi @peweuk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Your HP All-in-One PC with the Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi 6 adapter should generally deliver better speeds than what you’re seeing, so let’s break down why this might be happening and what you can do:

Why Wi-Fi Speed Is Lower Than Ethernet

  • Wi-Fi vs Ethernet: Ethernet is always more stable and faster because it’s wired. Wi-Fi depends on signal strength, interference, and router settings.
  • Realtek RTL8852BE: This adapter supports Wi-Fi 6, but performance can vary based on:
    • Router capabilities (Wi-Fi 6 or older?)
    • Channel congestion
    • Driver optimization

Steps to Improve Wi-Fi Performance

1. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure your router is Wi-Fi 6 capable and running on the 5 GHz band, not the 2.4 GHz.
  • Enable 802.11ax mode in router settings.

2. Update Network Driver

3. Adjust Windows Settings

  • Go to Device Manager → Network Adapter → Properties → Advanced.
  • Set:
    • Wireless Mode: 802.11ax
    • Roaming Aggressiveness: Medium
    • Transmit Power: Highest

4. Optimize Wi-Fi Environment

  • Place the PC closer to the router.
  • Reduce interference (microwaves, Bluetooth devices).
  • Use the Wi-Fi Analyzer app to pick the least congested channel.

5. Disable Power Saving

  • In Device Manager → Network Adapter → Power Management, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

@VikramTheGreat

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately I have tried everything you suggest and none of it resoled the problem.

I would add that my HP laptop and 2 mobile phones connected to the same router achieve wifi speeds of over 250mb and do not suffer with connection delays in the way that the AllInOne does - this is what makes me suspect that there is a hardware problem.
