Hi @Mustaphatika,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for providing the details. I understand that your HP 255 G5 Notebook PC can access Wi-Fi in general, but it is currently not detecting any available wireless networks, including your mobile hotspot. Since even the hotspot does not appear, we should first check whether Windows is properly detecting and enabling the notebook's wireless adapter.

Please try these HP-recommended steps:
1. Check the wireless function

  • Locate the wireless/airplane-mode key on the keyboard.
  • Press the key once and wait about 10 seconds
  • Check whether the wireless indicator changes and whether available networks appear.

Also make sure Airplane mode is turned off in Windows.

2. Check the wireless adapter

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager
  2. Expand Network adapters
  3. Look for the wireless/WLAN adapter.
  4. Check whether it is listed normally or has a yellow exclamation mark
  5. If it is disabled, right-click it and select Enable device

HP's driver page for the 255 G5 provides network drivers specific to this model, so identifying the exact wireless adapter is important before installing a driver.

3. Reinstall the wireless driver
If the wireless adapter is listed but still does not detect any networks:

  1. In Device Manager, expand Network adapters
  2. Right-click the wireless adapter.
  3. Select Uninstall device
  4. If Windows gives you the option to delete the driver, follow the appropriate prompt.
  5. In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
  6. Restart the notebook.

We recommend reinstalling the wireless adapter when the wireless connection is not functioning correctly.

Please check this for us
Before we go any further, please let us know what you see under: Device Manager → Network adapters

If possible, please share a clear screenshot/photo of the Network adapters section, including any entries under Other devices. This will help us determine whether the WLAN adapter is being detected and identify the correct driver for your HP 255 G5.

Also, let us know whether Wi-Fi is completely missing from Windows Settings, or whether Wi-Fi is available but simply shows “No networks found.”

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
