Hi, hope everyone is doing fine.
Would you be kind enough to help me please.
I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook - 15-ak005na (ENERGY STAR) with a 80A9 91.1E mainboard model, an intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300HQ CPU @ 2.30GHz and an Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165.
I want to upgrade the wifi card to a Wifi 6/6E (AX200/AX210) if not to AC 9260/9560.
Could you please advise me what my options are, which is the best I can have or my laptop supports.
I live in the UK.
I read something about no vPro, my new card should one of them.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Marius

Hi, Marius:
The only Wi-Fi cards that are guaranteed to work are the ones listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual and it appears that the best card HP offered in the model series was the Intel 3165
The one card I can 100% guarantee you will not work is the Intel 9560, because that is a CNVI card and will only work in a notebook that it originally came installed on.
I think the AX200 will work but I cannot 100% guarantee it will. Maybe the AX210 will too.
These are the HP part numbers/SPS numbers you need to find:
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # / SPS #L35282-005
Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro HP part # / SPS # M27269-005

Hello again, just a quick update.
I did upgrade my WiFi card with an Intel AX210 and does work.

I did the same with an older HP and a newer Asus VivoBook.
I tried it also in a Dell Vostro 11th gen i5 and in an Acer XC885 9th gen i5 but they are not compatible.
Thank you for your time and support, much appreciated.
