Greetings!
I recently got this laptop "HP Pavilion g7-1260us" which came with Windows 7 but did not have a Wi-Fi driver, you could only use the internet via cable. And I wanted to know whether it is possible to give me the Wi-Fi adapter for Windows 10 (I just updated) for that model, as it does not appear in the HP support and Windows update and I find it annoying to have to stick the laptop to the modem all the time to browse the Internet. Thank you very much.

Hi:
According to the parts list for your notebook, it comes with a Ralink RT5390 Wi-Fi adapter.
Unfortunately, that card only worked for the first year when W10 came out in 2015.
On the newer builds of W10, it completely disappears from the device manager and there is no fix other than to go back to W7.
I recommend you purchase a USB dual band Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter that has support for W10.
I have this one. It is small and works fine.
The internal card cannot be replaced with another model because your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which prevents the installation of any other model Wi-Fi adapter from working other than the one that came with your notebook.
