@tristan8, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the computer's wireless connection will drop occasionally. I will do everything in my power to assist you with this.

Update the BIOS from the HP support website.

First, I would like you to try some of the troubleshooting in this HP document: Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows

In this document, please go to the section "Before you begin: use Windows 8 diagnostic and troubleshooting tools". This section contains Windows troubleshooters that could resolve the issue without doing any troubleshooting. If not, it might provide an explanation as to what is wrong.

These diagnostics should at least be able to put you in the right direction. If the issue remains, please review this document next: Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet Connection (Windows 7)

I know you have Windows 8, but the troubleshooting I would like you to try will work on Windows 8. In this document, please try the steps in the "Slow or dropped wireless connection". This is close to the issue you are experiencing, so I figured it is appropriate.

I believe following this troubleshooting will resolve the issue. Either way, please post your results. Thank you for choosing the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the info.  I run Windows 10.  I did try your solutions and nothing works.  WIfi drops at least 5-6 times a day on this device only.  I have tried just about everything imaginable with the same negative result.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!
