The WiFi and Bluetooth drivers for my laptop keep on breaking.  At random moments of the day when I turn on my laptop, the WiFi and Bluetooth icons on my laptop will just disappear. Every time this happens, I either wait a bit for the icons to reappear again, or if that doesn't work, I restart my laptop, which usually works. Now, however, when I restart my laptop, the wifi/bluetooth problem doesn't fix itself. I go to the device manager and I uninstall the wifi and bluetooth drivers which have a caution sign. That doesn't fix the problem too anymore. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hi @j1kappuzha

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you are facing issues with the Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth drivers on your HP device, which continue to malfunction even after updating. To help resolve this, please follow the steps below:

Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers

  • Corrupted drivers may need to be removed and reinstalled.
  • Device Manager → Right‑click adapter → Uninstall device
  • Check Delete the driver software for this device if prompted
  • Restart your laptop
  • Windows will attempt to reinstall drivers automatically
  • Install Drivers manually https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Restart Windows Services

  • Key services must be running for wireless features to work.
  • Press Win + R → type services.msc → Enter
  • Locate Bluetooth Support Service → Right‑click → Restart
  • Locate WLAN AutoConfig → Right‑click → Restart

Update BIOS and Windows

  • Outdated BIOS or system updates can cause hardware malfunctions.
  • Visit HP Support website → download latest BIOS for your model https://support.hp.com/au-en/products
  • Follow HP instructions carefully to update BIOS
  • Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → install all updates

Perform a System Restore

  • If issues began after a recent update, restore to a previous working state.
  • Control Panel → Recovery → Open System Restore
  • Select a restore point before the issue started
  • Follow prompts to complete restore
  • Test Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth after restart

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
