HP Pavilion dv6-6c55er Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello community,

I want to upgrade my pavilion dv6-6c55er laptop to support 5 GHz Wi-Fi, the adapter that's currently in there is the Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter which only supports 2.4 GHz.

Are there any WiFi whitelist for this specific laptop? which WiFi card will be compatible?

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

Unfortunately, your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which blocks the installation of any other model Wi-Fi card form working other than the Atheros card it came with.

Your only option for an upgrade would be to use a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter.
