Hi @JeKoke,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble connecting your HP printer to WiFi, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check WiFi Network and Printer Compatibility

  • Ensure your printer is compatible with your WiFi network’s frequency (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
  • Make sure your printer is within range of your router.

Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer, router, and computer or mobile device.

Connect Printer to WiFi

  • For Printers with a Screen:
    1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    2. Select your WiFi network and enter the password.
    3. Confirm and wait for the printer to connect.
  • For Printers without a Screen:
    1. Use the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device:
      • Download and install the HP Smart app if you haven’t already.
      • Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
      • When prompted, select Wireless and follow the steps to connect the printer to your WiFi network.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. You can usually update it via the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface.

Check Router Settings

  • Ensure that the router's settings allow devices to connect. Check if any security settings or firewall rules might be blocking the printer.

Reconfigure Network Settings

  • If the printer has previously been connected to a different network, you might need to reset its network settings:
    • Go to Settings > Network > Restore Network Settings (specific menu names may vary).

Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

  • If your router and printer support WPS, press the WPS button on your router and then the WPS button on your printer. This should connect them automatically.

Check Printer IP Address

  • Print a network configuration page from your printer (usually found in the network settings menu). Check if the printer has a valid IP address and if it’s correctly connected to your network.

Reinstall Printer Software

  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP printer software from the HP website. During installation, follow the steps to connect the printer to your network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
