Recently I have been encountering pc lags/hiccups/small freezes every few seconds followed by wifi network disconnection. Network Troubleshoot fixes the problem but in a few mins, I face the same problem. The lag issue usually occurs when I am playing a video/audio file or when I am gaming. Refreshed PC and updated all the applications. That didn't solve the issue.  Product number: J2C54PA#ACJ. The following is the Troubleshooting report

It could be a driver issue but could be some flakiness in the hardware as well.

Some things to try:

- boot your router

- install one of the free WiFi analyzers that let you monitor your WiFi signal strength, then  swing the computer lid to see if the signal breaks (if there are problems with the antenna wires)

- play with the different drivers versions

Later is not always better it seems:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Ralink-RT3290-802-11b-g-n-Wi-Fi-Adapt...

You could also check what's available on Windows Update (optional updates) and you could even try if the Win 10 drivers install. A good idea to create a restore point first.

People are using their precious remaining lifetime to try and help, so it is common courtesy to come back and tell what the solution eventually was even if you found it elsewhere. It is for the benefit of everyone.

Hi

Can we start with Make, Model and OS please... HP 15-r014tx Notebook PC  and Windows 7?

Your drivers don't seem to match properly...

If in doubt please ask.

Nothing seems to solve the problem permanently. Troubleshooter and disabling and enabling the wifi adapter seems to work temporarily.

Make, Model and OS please.

Then you may get a solution to suit.

Hi

The driver you had listed seemed wrong and now I can search for a more appropriate one.

A hardware reset seemed to solve the problem.
