Hi @CharlieBoi-21, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Hi Charlie! It sounds like your HP laptop is stuck displaying an outdated Wi-Fi network list. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Basic Troubleshooting:

  1. Restart the Laptop & Router – Sometimes, a simple restart can refresh the network list.
  2. Toggle Airplane Mode – Turn on Airplane Mode for 10 seconds, then turn it off.
  3. Manually Refresh Wi-Fi List – In Windows, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar and select "Network & Internet settings" > "Wi-Fi" > "Show available networks."

Advanced Steps:

Check if Wi-Fi Adapter is Enabled

  • Open Device Manager (Press Win + X > Select Device Manager).
  • Expand Network Adapters and check if the Wi-Fi adapter is disabled (right-click > Enable if needed).

Update or Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and choose Update driver.
  • If that doesn’t work, try Uninstalling the driver and restarting the laptop to let Windows reinstall it automatically.

Reset Network Settings

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type the following commands (press Enter after each):
    netsh int ip reset
    netsh winsock reset
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
  • Restart your laptop and check if the Wi-Fi list updates.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.

Check for Third-Party Software Issues

  • If the laptop was previously used in a corporate or school environment, there might be restrictions on Wi-Fi networks. Check for any installed security software that might be limiting network scanning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
