HP 14-b109wm Pavilion TS Sleekbook E0X70UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 14-b109wm Pavilion TS Sleekbook. I have an Intel Celeron CPU877 1.4ghz processor. I have a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n WiFi Adapter and want to upgrade to a dual band plus bluetooth adapter. Will i run into any problems with whitelisting or other issues?

Hi:

I don't believe that you will run into the whitelisting problem in that model.

What I have found is that on similar models with the Intel Celeron and Pentium processors though, the most likely card to upgrade to--the Intel 7260 AC card with bluetooth, forum members report that it installs, but doesn't work.  Everything looks right in the device manager (card appears under Network Adapters, drivers installed, reports working properly, but it doesn't).

So...If you want to take a gamble on upgrading the wifi card, go for the Broadcom equivalent...

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo    HP Part # 724935-001

The card is readily available on Amazon or eBay.  Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi adapter.

Before installing the card, uninstall the Atheros wifi driver first in the device manager.

Below are the links to the latest W10 drivers for the Broadcom AC card.

Wifi:   7.35.351.0 Rev.A

Bluetooth:  12.0.1.921 Rev.A
