Wifi Card , Hp Probook 4730s

Hi!

I have this old laptop which is hp probook 4730s,  i5 2410m hd 3000 with radeon hd 7400m, as i google its manufactured date was way back 2011, i just want to know if my laptop is whitelisted because my wifi adapter (wifi card) seems to be malfunctioning even driver is installed, i want to change and upgrade it for to get better but im worrying if i bought new wifi card the laptop bios wont recognize it or wont even boot up if my laptop is whitelisted.. i really need your advise. currently using my phone as tethering device to connect on wifi.. if it is possible to replace the stock wifi card can you also give recommended wifi card to replace it..

Hi:

Yes, your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which means you can only install one of the wifi cards listed in chapter 3 of the service manual.

You must buy a card that has the HP part number on it, or it will not work.

You may be able to find used but tested and working wifi cards on eBay or Ali Express.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

From the cards listed in the manual, it appears the Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 having part number 636672-001, would be the best one you can install.

Try to buy a card that has an actual photo of the card with the HP part number showing.

Another question if you may sir .
this hp probook 4730s has an expresscard slot 34 if im not correct., 
if i want to add external gpu via express card will it work? 
my friend recommends me to use this kind of external gpu which has hdmi to express card and said it will work on my laptop coz i have slot for express card.,,
