Good morning everyone,
I just signed on for the first time, because I will soon receive the HP Notebook – 17-ca1246ng. Although I have researched the net for applicable information, I was unable to find what I was looking for. Perhaps I can get that info from someone knowledgeable in this forum. My two questions are as follows:
1. What brand and model Wifi card (adapter) is installed in the above model?
2. Is it possible to use an Intel Wifi 6 AX 200 NGW module in that notebook, and if so, would that really substantially increase the wireless speed? ( I happen to have that module on hand).
All answers will be appreciated

Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook.
HP Notebook - 17-ca1246ng Produktdaten | HP® Kundensupport
It comes with a single band (2.4 GHz) Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n (1x1) und Bluetooth® 4.2 adapter.
The RTL8723DE wifi adapter is designed to work with only one antenna wire, and the Intel AX 200 would require the notebook to have two antenna wires for all of its features to work correctly.
There is only one model AC wifi card you can upgrade to as a direct swap with no antenna modifications, and that would be this one...
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express,
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15
The card will have the same 72 MBPS throughput as the RTL8723DE wifi card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, it will have a max throughput of 433 MBPS when you have an AC router with an excellent wifi signal strength.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
