Hi,

My laptop is brand new and initially Wifi worked perfectly. However, I installed BitDefender Anti-Virus software, rebooted and wifi hasnt worked since.

I have reinstalled the WAN drivers, uninstalled BitDefender, rebooted and nothing changes. I ran a diagnostic test on wireless and the result was "Not Installed".

What do I do next?

Thanks for any help!

David

Hi

That was an F11 you did?

Hidden Devices.png  HIDDEN?

SSID WiFi Born On.png Gives the adapter model?

Copy, Paste and Save in Notepad, as LBB.bat (not a .TXT) and double click to run.
Preferably run as an Administrator.
OR
Copy and use the individual command lines as needed.

Post anything non-personal, but relevant please.

@Echo OFF
getmac
netsh lan show interfaces
netsh wlan show interfaces
netsh wlan show drivers

PAUSE
systeminfo
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter"
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"
PowerShell -Command "GIP -Detailed"
PowerShell -Command "Test-NetConnection"
PAUSE

If in doubt please ask.

Sorry, but I don't understand the rest of your instructions, a bit too advanced for my low knowledge level!

Hi

The picture takes hours to get approval.

Open Notepad

Type

getmac

save as

toonaroond.bat

Close NotePad.  Double click on toonaroond to run it.

Then edit and add

msinfo32

Rinse and Repeat.

Ok, so that opened system info panel and I can find all of the network adapters there.....

What do I need to do next?

Hi

msinfo32.png  Next might be drivers....

Use the lines

netsh wlan show interfaces
netsh wlan show drivers

These are the same kinda thing

PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter"
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"

in your toonaroond bat file.

EG:

C:\>PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"
