Hi guys,

I'm facing out a problem with my Wifi adapter. When I connect to my Wifi the first time it's connected using 5GHz correctly. After a few seconds the connection is switched to 2,4 GHz although the 5GHz is still very strong available. This happens also in other Wifi networks.

I installed the last updates for my Wifi adapter Realtek RTL8852AE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter, which is currently 6001.10.349.0.

Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem?

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the Wi-Fi driver to the latest version which is 6001.10.352.0 with a driver date of 11/25/2022.

I have zipped up and attached the driver file below.

You will need to manually install the driver from the device manager as follows since there is no executable file included.

Download and unzip the file I attached to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.

Click on the Realtek RTL8852AE Wi-Fi adapter.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

The source of the file I attached is from the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

Microsoft Update Catalog

It is good for W10 & W11.

I installed the update but I can't see any effect. When I sit on the same place with my Android device it get the 5 GHz Wifi, but my laptop still uses the 2,4 GHz most of the time...

Any other ideas?

Sorry the driver update didn't help.

The only other suggestion I can offer if your notebook's Wi-Fi adapter has these settings would be to change them from the default settings to these:

802.11 a/b/g wireless mode: set to dual band 802.11 a/b/g

802.11n/ac/ax wireless mode: set to 802.11ax

Preferred Band: Prefer 5 GHz band

I have these settings on my Intel AX200 Wi-Fi adapter.
