If the card is installed and working, the Aeroplane mode changes then I would question the Antenna and the Networks selected to connect to.

 

Here is the a section from the last bit of a batch file (the A2Z.bat, and they are X and Y) ....

netsh wlan show profiles

@ECHO PLEASE NOTE any NETWORK-SSID name(s)
@ECHO that you want the PASSPHRASE(S) for.
