Hi @Undertheradar1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion notebook is missing Bluetooth and WiFi, it could be due to several reasons, such as missing or corrupted drivers, hardware issues, or incorrect settings. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Hardware Switches or Function Keys

Some HP Pavilion notebooks have physical switches or function keys (like F12) that enable or disable WiFi and Bluetooth. Ensure these are turned on. Look for an LED indicator near the switch or key; it should be lit if the wireless is enabled.

2. Enable WiFi and Bluetooth in Settings

  • Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and ensure WiFi is turned on.
    • For Bluetooth, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
  • macOS:
    • Go to System Preferences > Network and check the WiFi status.
    • For Bluetooth, go to System Preferences > Bluetooth.

3. Check Device Manager (Windows) or System Information (macOS)

  • Windows:
    • Open Device Manager by pressing Win + X and selecting it from the menu.
    • Look for "Network adapters" for WiFi and "Bluetooth" for Bluetooth devices. If you see any devices with a yellow warning triangle or a red cross, there may be a driver issue.
  • macOS:
    • Go to System Information (found in Applications > Utilities) and check the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" sections to see if the hardware is detected.

4. Update or Reinstall Drivers

  • Windows:
    • In Device Manager, right-click the WiFi or Bluetooth device and select "Update driver." You can also download the latest drivers from the HP support website using another device.
    • If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the drivers and restarting your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the necessary drivers.
  • macOS:
    • Check for system updates via the Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update.

5. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings

Sometimes, wireless devices can be disabled at the BIOS/UEFI level. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, DEL, or ESC during startup). Look for options related to wireless or network devices and ensure they are enabled.

6. Perform a System Restore or Factory Reset

If the problem started recently, you can try restoring your system to a previous point when everything was working fine. If this is not possible or doesn't work, a factory reset may be necessary (ensure you back up your data first).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
