You either buy an external USB wifi adapter, or you purchase a replacement internal wifi card with the same part number the wireless card has now.
You will need to consult the service manual for your specific model g6 notebook.
There are hundreds and hundreds of different model g6 notebooks HP made.

I recommend that you try this first...Remove and firmly reseat the Ralink wifi card your notebook has.
Sometimes the electrical contacts between the card and the slot it plugs into get oxidized and the electrical connection is broken.
Leave the antenna cables connected to make it easier to reinstall the card.
See chapter 4 of the service manual at the link below for how to remove and replace the wifi adapter.

If that doesn't get the wifi card to show up, then you will need to replace the card because it is no good anymore.
I recommend that you replace it with this model card and HP part number...
Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter HP Part # 730668-001
You should be able to find the card in used but tested and working condition on Amazon or eBay.
Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
Or you can purchase an external USB wifi adapter.
