Hi @Rexpect,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Victus 16 is experiencing network issues specifically with Valorant while other games work fine, it’s likely that the problem is related to either the game's settings, network configuration, or potential conflicts. Here’s a detailed guide to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

**1. Check Network Settings and Connection

  1. Ensure your internet connection is stable. Test your connection using other devices or by running a speed test.
  2. Check if you experience similar issues with other online applications or games.
  3. Ensure no other devices are consuming significant bandwidth (e.g., large downloads or streaming).

**2. Update Network Drivers

Update Network Drivers:

  1. Open Device Manager: Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  2. Locate Network Adapters: Expand the Network adapters section.Update Driver: Right-click on your network adapter and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  3. Visit the HP Support website or the network adapter manufacturer's website.
  4. Download and install the latest drivers for your specific network adapter model.

**3. Adjust In-Game Settings

  1. Launch Valorant and go to Settings.Navigate to the Network or Gameplay section.
  2. Ensure settings related to network, such as Network Buffering or Low Latency, are correctly configured.Make sure Valorant is updated to the latest version.Check for any known issues or patches related to network problems in Valorant’s forums or official website.

**4. Configure Firewall and Antivirus

  1. Open your firewall settings and ensure Valorant is allowed to communicate through the firewall.
  2. Add Valorant to the list of allowed applications if it is not already listed.
  3. Ensure your antivirus software is not blocking Valorant’s network traffic.
  4. Temporarily disable the antivirus to see if it resolves the issue, and if it does, add Valorant to the antivirus exception list.

**5. Flush DNS and Reset Network Settings

  1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click the Start menu and select Command Prompt (Admin)).
  2. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  3. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  4. Click on Network reset and follow the prompts to reset your network settings.

**6. Check Router and Modem Settings

  1. Unplug your router and modem, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug them back in.
  2. Allow them to fully restart and reconnect.Ensure your router firmware is up-to-date.
  3. Check if any Quality of Service (QoS) settings might be affecting game performance.

**7. Run Network Troubleshooter

  • Windows Network Troubleshooter:
    1. Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    2. Select Internet Connections and run the troubleshooter to identify and fix network issues.

**8. Test on a Different Network

  1. If possible, connect your HP Victus 16 to a different network (e.g., a mobile hotspot) and test Valorant to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello @Rachel571,

Thank you very much for your reply. Your advices seem very helpful and I thank you for taking your time to answer to my comment/issue. Luckily I was able to fix it earlier. The BIOS of my laptop was outdated and that caused this issue. Thank you very much though I'm sure your advices would have helped very well.

Have a good weekend!
