 What's also strange is that the Spectre x360 works fine almost anywhere else I go (Starbucks, hotels, office).  Also, when I turn on the Spectre x360, it actually jacks up the internet connection for all of my other devices as well. Once I turn it off again, everything is fine.

I had this same problem. My only solution was to restore the laptop back to factory. I could never figure out what causes this. But, I feel it is a driver issue. Updates will install new drivers once restored, and hope they work well. So far the 20.20.2.2 drivers seem to be working OK.  I have the AC 8265 card. I am getting kind of tired having to keep restoring the laptop and redoing everything.  Kind of funny though that I keep getting different drivers updated, and this time I had to manually update the drivers and gave me this one. What's even funnier is that this was the same driver that caused my last issue, and now working OK again. I don't kow. Like I said, I really can't figure it out.  I did have a previous driver pushed 20.0.2 something can't remember for sure.  This driver was excellent until I wound up with the new one.

@tkd01

Thank you for the update,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I'm glad I could help, does this mean the issue is resolved? or are you still in need of an assistance?

Also, the new driver seems to have an issue, I suggest you wait for another release from the wireless card manufacturer as that should resolve these bugs/issues.

That said, You've been great to work with and it has been a genuine pleasure interacting with you.

I hope both you and your product works great and remain healthy for a long time 😉

Thanks for this information. I tried to reinstall the original wifi drivers under the HP Recovery Manager. It installed but my current drivers 20.20.2.2 are still showing up. Would I have to delete the current driver in order to reinstall the original drivers that came with the laptop?

Edit: I'm not sure where the original poster went for this thread. Didn't mean to hijack this. But, this was the best advice I have gotten so far. I did figure out that I needed to rollback the driver and it gave my original one 19.50.1.6. This one actually has better speeds than the 20.20.2.2. I wish I could get back the 20.0.2.3 (believe this was this number).driver as this was excellent for the AC8265.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Please go ahead and delete the existing driver and then install the one from the HP Recovery Manager,

If the issue persists, you could also try installing the latest driver from the manufacturer website to check if that works.

I'm glad I understand now what to do rather than having to completely restore the laptop back to factory. I am not quit sure though why I keep getting the 19.50.1.6 driver with the HP Restore Manager, when my original driver was 19.50.1.5, and that is what is refereneced in the Restore Manager? Anyway, my original driver still works better as far as speed goes then the 20.20.2.2 which is Intel's latest driver.

Hi Community,

I have been putting this issue off for far too long (over 12 months) and I need to get on top of it, and your help would be greatly appreciated please.  I have with relatively regular occurrence my HP Spectre dropping it's connection to the WiFi network.  I know this because I have an open ping window running and often see "transmit failed, General failure" and I know that for about 30 seconds or so I have no connectivity and I have to wait for it to reconnect.  It looks to me I have the "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260" card in my laptop, with I assume is the latest driver 20.70.3.3 dated 03/09/2018? I also have the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" unticked. I know that it is not my router as all other devices on my network do not loose their connection.

Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated please?
