Hi @zombiefff

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand your concern  when your Wi-Fi adapter appears to be working properly in Device Manager, but no wireless networks are detected. I'm glad to hear that your USB Wi-Fi connection is working, as that will help us continue troubleshooting.

Does the Wi-Fi adapter appear without any warning icons in Device Manager?

Are other nearby Wi-Fi networks visible on other devices such as a phone or another computer?

Have you connected both 2.4 GHz  wireless networks?

In the meantime, please try the following steps:

  • Press Windows + X and open Device Manager.
  • Expand Network Adapters, right-click the Ralink wireless adapter, and select Uninstall Device.
  • Restart the computer and allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.
  • Open Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Network Reset, then restart the PC.
  • Run the Network Adapter Troubleshooter:
  • Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters > Network Adapter.
  • In Device Manager, right-click the wireless adapter, select Properties > Power Management, and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  • If available, install the latest wireless driver from the HP Support website specific to your model.

If the Wi-Fi networks still do not appear after completing these steps, please let us know the exact HP model and whether the wireless adapter is detected in the BIOS or HP Hardware Diagnostics. We will be happy to continue assisting you.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
