I have successfully cloned a new HDD from an old Pavilion15 to go into a newer Pavilion15 but when I tried to use the newer laptop most of the clone worked fine except it wouldn't go online. The old laptop has a realtek wifi adapter and the newer laptop has a Broadcom wifi adapter. I can't see any way of changing the newer laptop settings to use the Broadcom adapter. Do I really have to remove the realtek from the old laptop and install it in the newer laptop? Both have a Realtek family controller.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi:
If any of the Realtek drivers or software are showing up in the device manager uninstall them and check the uninstall driver box.
If none are showing, on the view tab at the top of the device manager window, click on show hidden devices and then see if they show up in light shade. Right click on the Realtek wifi adapter and uninstall it as well as the driver.
Do the same for the Bluetooth if your notebook's wifi card had the Realtek Bluetooth.
Restart the PC and then install the W10 Broadcom wifi and Bluetooth drivers.
This package provides the Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers for supported notebook models running a supported operating system. Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN adapter.
