I want 5ghz, I do not have 5ghz. I also do not know what type of connector is used in the machine, and I don't much want to tear it apart just to look. Anyone know what socket it is? I'm betting it's just an m.2, but I'm unsure.

While we're at it, may as well ask for a suggestion on a specific card - you know, in case there's a white list going on.

Hi:

There is only one model wifi card that is going to work in your notebook because I am 99.9% sure there is only one antenna cable connected to the single band wifi adapter in there now.

This dual band wifi AC card is the only one I know of that will work with only one antenna...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac 1 × 1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)   HP Part # L17365-005

Since the card is listed in the service manual for your notebook's model series, I would assume there should be no whitelist issues...chapter 3 page 18.

The card is on backorder at the HP parts store (and has been forever).

The only place I have been able to find any listed is on eBay.

Since is is only a 1 x 1 card, the max throughput with an excellent signal would be 433 MBPS.
