Hi @Judy1257,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble setting up your HP printer with a new Wi-Fi network, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Restart Everything: Sometimes, a simple restart can solve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer, router, and computer, then turn them back on after a few minutes.
- Reset Printer Network Settings: Most HP printers have an option to reset network settings. Look for this option in the printer's menu or refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a network reset.
- Connect via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup): Some routers support WPS, which allows you to connect devices to the Wi-Fi network without entering the password. Check if your router has a WPS button and follow the instructions in your printer's manual to connect using WPS.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website.
- Forget Old Wi-Fi Network: If possible, forget the old Wi-Fi network on your printer. This will prevent it from trying to connect to the old network automatically. Then, try setting up the printer with the new Wi-Fi network again.
- Manual Setup: If automatic setup isn't working, try manually entering the new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password on your printer. Ensure that you're entering the correct credentials.
- Check Router Settings: Make sure that your router settings allow new devices to connect to the network. Sometimes, routers have restrictions or security settings that can prevent new devices from connecting.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and set up your HP printer with the new Wi-Fi network successfully.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
