Win10 with HP Probook 6470b and un2430 mobile broadband modem not working .

Hi , the modem card is physically installed , antena's connected . Device manager lists the device un2430 mobile broadband device with the yellow warning triangle . SP63218 fails to install device not present . similar with SP63221 . I tried several links on this forum but no luck . Any ideas please how to solve this issue . Thanks in advance .

Hi:

I believe the W8.1 driver will work.  Manually install the driver if the auto install doesn't work.

Thanks for your response , sp79200.exe is a video drive for intel 510 chipset . I get a virus alert from your link .

That's interesting.  If you look at the 6470b W8.1 driver page, that file is listed for the un2430.

Try manually installing the other W8.1 un2430 driver as follows.

Download and run the one you tried before. 

If you didn't delete the driver folder is still exists in C:\SWSetup, then you don't have to run it again.

Go to the device manager and click on the un2430 WWAN device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.  That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp63221.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

If it does, restart the PC.

I don't know why the driver didn't work for you straightaway.  It worked for this person just fine...

well I disable and removed , restarting now . I will have another go , the manual method .

The modem is now installed and fully functioning under the modems tab , but there is an entry under network adapters  , un2430 mobile broadband module  network device  with the same yellow warning triangle . Do I need something else here ?

Do the same thing again...manually install the driver from that device...browse to C:\SWSetup\sp63221...

I got it working , so This is win10 using win8.1 64 bit driver for un2430 sierra mobile broadband modem and a standard mobile sim card from my THREE mobile . On a HP probook 6470b . the driver to use is the 2017 , the newer one . Opening the sp file click ok , next , yes , etc and it installs no problem .

or search HP 6470b driver and change to win8.1 64 bit , open network tab , look for 2nd sierra broadband driver , from 2017 .
