THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

Updating/re-installing my Bios worked and now my laptop has wi-fi capability!  In fact, I am posting this reply without being hooked up to the internet via an ethernet cable.

I followed your steps and downloaded the Windows 7 Bios even though I have updated to Windows 10.  It said my current bios was the same version as the one that was being dowloaded but there must have been something corrupted in the one on my computer because once it re-installed it, wi-fi was back on.

Thank you again for sharing!  You are awesome!

I don't know what model pf DV7 do you have but it doesn't works for us (we have 3) our model is DV7 6c00 there is no Bios F.0A for our model just F.12, F.1A, F.1B and F.1C. We do that:

1. Revert to W7

2. Remove VPN Softwares (our case Hamachi)

3. Apply W10 again without eth cable but connected on a wirelles network.

Just it. We are not sure if the Hamachi uninstallation or letting it connected to a WLan solved the problem but it is running.

Tks.

Well, I wish I could get some help. I have now tried to install Windows 10 on my Pavilion dv7 for 3 days - tried everything in the book. I get all the right messages but when it comes back on - Windows 7 Home Premium is still there. Frustrated enough to give up.  Ideas anyone?

Thanks

I have dealt with this HP and no drivers for windows 10, for months on a few HP machines. Even machines with 8 gig of ram and AMD video.. bottom line. HP dont give a crap, they are not releasing drivers, they want you to suffer to buy a new laptop.

ASUS all the way.. tossing MY HP crap, selling them off as windows 7, kids school laptops.

I did windows 10 "upgrade" on HP Pavilion dv7-1000 29 July 2016. Now cannot access internet, via Ethernet or Wifi.

...and I don't even know how to get cleanly back to Win7...?

You're lucky LAN cable works.

Regarding the installation on Windows 10 on my HP Pavillion 7, I took it to a commercial computer shop.  They were able to get the wireless going again.  I had tried the 1st suggestion I was given.  Unfortunately it did not work.

HELP>  anyone can tell me how to upgrade drivers for my HP Pavillion dv7-1000 model KN798AV that I free-upgraded  W7-10 on the very last day 29 July 2016?  I cannot get internet on LAN-Ethernet, nor on WiFi, nor on Homegroup to my 2 other laptops.

1]  Actually I wouldn't know where or how to update "drivers" or Bios anyway.

2] I did try the Battery-Out Bios-F9 F10 routine to no avail.

3] What is safest way to revert to Win7?  My MS 28-day clock to Retreat is about to expire.

On my ASUS 8.1 to Win10 was ok, except Audio disappeared from headphones.  Just now disappeared from speakers as well.  Oh, My!

UPDATE

I am not sure what happened, but I was so annoyed with this issue, i havnt bought my hp laptop back online. I just did today to prepare to reinsall win 7, and now suddenly with win 10 the WIFI speeds are where they should be, 50 meg down, 20 meg up.

So maybe it was the BIOS update I did? not sure.. but its working now. 🙂
