I was having an issue with my HP Pavilion DV7 after installing windows 10 as well. The following worked for me.
I did what the other guys here suggested such as updating the BIOS with Win 7 version, but that might not make a difference based on my experience.
But I was having the issue on my laptop going to airplane mode when I pressed on the button to activate wifi, even after the BIOS update. Then by accident when I was about to toss the computer out the window.
I pressed on the wifi button (which is F12) and I assume this is true for most DV7 HP's and once again airplane mode was activated, but while on airplane mode I pressed on WI-FI on the network settings and wala wifi turned on. Then I turned off airplane mode and wifi stayed on.
So simply try turning on airplane mode then turn on wifi and then turn airplane mode off. Hope it works as it worked for me.

Thanks troubleshooter3. I had battled this for a couple hours today and then I finally got to the last (your) post and that prompted me to hit the F12 key. Viola. Not sure if I had to do that other stuff or not before...but I had.
