Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Let me start from the beginning. Last week I updated Windows and after the laptop restarted, it crashed. My cousin helped me out by wiping the hard drive and re-installing Windows. Long story short, I got a virus and had to wipe the hard drive again. I say all of this for context, which is why I'm not being more specific. For whatever reason, I don't have the install disc that should have come with the laptop. What I do have is Windows 7. I installed Windows 7 on the laptop (it came with Windows 10) and there are about 7 different drivers that will not function, internet and USB being the most important to me, personally.

Is there no compatibility between the drivers that came with this laptop and Windows 7? I've tried downloading the latest updates for the drivers and it hasn't fixed the issue. I don't know if there's a particular place I need to install the drivers to, so it's possible I just put them in the wrong place.

Hi:

In order for my to even begin to try and help you with finding W7 drivers, I would need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

The product number can normally be found on the same label as the serial number.

If your notebook came with W10 from HP, you can reinstall windows 10 as follows...

To reinstall W10...Use the Media Creation Tool.  Make the 64 bit installation media.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, since your PC is not working.

W10 will find the product key in the PC's BIOS, install and will automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...

  1. Select Download tool now, and select Run.
  2. If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
  3. On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.
  4. Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.

  5. Select which media you want to use:
  6. USB flash drive.  Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.
