Just purchased and set up HP 15" laptop. Connected HP bluetooth mouse/keyboard and HP external monitor. Keyboard works fine, mouse moves but will not select commands. Tried both USB ports and a different mouse. Same symptoms still happening. Changed batteries, reset drivers, still no change.

Update Device Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your Bluetooth mouse installed:
- Go to Device Manager.
- Expand the Bluetooth section.
- Right-click on your mouse and select Update Driver.
- Follow the prompts to update the driver.
Verify Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager.
- Ensure that your mouse is listed under Bluetooth or Mice and other pointing devices.
- Check for any warning symbols (like a yellow exclamation mark) indicating a problem with the device.
Replace Batteries:
- Even though you've changed the batteries, ensure they are properly installed and are functional.
Use Different USB Ports:
- You mentioned trying different USB ports; ensure they are functioning correctly by connecting another USB device to verify its function.
Bluetooth Configuration:
- Verify the Bluetooth connection:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
