Windows Fax and Scan App

I want to use the Windows Fax and Scan App. I tried using the pjone jack in the living room, but the laptop doesnt recognize a modem. How do I resolve this?

What you’ll need to fax with Windows Fax and Scan

• A computer running Windows Fax and Scan
• A landline phone line (VoIP will not work)
• A fax modem (either internal or external). If you don’t have one there are options for USB fax modems.
• A phone cord (to connect the modem to the phone line)
• A document to test the fax with

Based on the little time I have invested in the subject, I have decided that implementing a "nontraditional setup" Fax  is a bit more convoluted than simply purchasing a printer that includes fax, using Mobile Fax, or signing up for eFax service.  Personal opinion.

If your printer does not include a fax function, if you don't have a fax modem, if you don't want eFax, consider Mobile Fax.
