Hi I was wondering what card I need to have 5GHz wifi if I can actually upgrade my wireless card

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, that model series has a BIOS whitelist.

 

There are no dual band wifi cards you can upgrade to.

 

If you want dual band wifi capability, you would have to purchase an external USB dual band wifi adapter.

 

They make some pretty small ones nowadays (nano adapters), that hardly stick out of the USB port.

Just out of curiosity is there anyway I can find the BIOS whitelist to see what's all on the list.

Unfortunately you can't.

 

No one that I know of knows how to extract that info out of the BIOS.

 

Basically, unless your PC is a configured to order (CTO) model, which it isn't, the only wifi card you can install in there is the one in there now, and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.
