My laptop is using Realtek RTL8822BE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter and running the latest driver version of 2024.0.8.107 on windows 10 home v1903
i have performed all steps short of a complete reformat. network reset, driver uninstall, driver update, etc.
the wifi icon is gone from the task bar and i can't connect to any wifi networks or even view the networks that are available.
ethernet works fine.

Hi, @bougs1
There is a newer driver than the one you have installed currently...
2024.0.9.103/2024.0.4.108 Jul 18, 2019

Since the wifi card has completely disappeared from sight, go to the device manager, click on the View tab at the top of the device manager window.
Check the 'Show hidden devices option.'
Go down to the Network adapters device manager category, click to expand that, and you should see the Realtek RTL8822BE 802.11ac in light shade.
Right click on it, select Uninstall and check the uninstall driver box if it is present.
Restart the PC and update the driver to the above version.
If that doesn't work and your PC is still under warranty, contact HP technical support and submit a support case under the warranty, as the wifi card probably has to be replaced.

Hi
W7 WiFi is done in the BIOS settings I think, W10 has the F12 or similar, so it was a long shot and I missed by a mile. Check the BIOS options as a possibility.
So the HP Notebook - 14-df0023cl has a
Realtek RTL8822BE 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) 924813-855
as both you and Paul know.
Next find out what you do have that works....
Copy, Paste and Save in Notepad, as LBB2Z.bat and double click to run.
Post anything non-personal, but relevant please.
@ECHO OFF
getmac
PAUSE
netsh wlan show interfaces
PAUSE
netsh wlan show drivers
PAUSE
netsh wlan show profiles
PAUSE
systeminfo
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter"
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"
PowerShell -Command "GIP -Detailed"
PowerShell -Command "Test-NetConnection"
PAUSE
Copy and paste individual lines, or the whole thing into NotePad and save as LBB.bat (not text) and post back anything relevant please.

the manual says Page 14
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06146792
Turns the airplane mode and wireless feature on or off.
NOTE: The airplane mode key is also referred to as the wireless button.
NOTE: A wireless network must be set up before a wireless connection is possible
Perhaps that should be Aeroplane?
So it seems I cannot help you.
