Dear all,
I want to upgrade my Wifi network card on my laptop HP G6 2011so.
I am hoping to install a Dual Band Adapter.
Can somebody recommend a compatible Wifi Card.
I have tried a Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 (622anhmw), Dual Band Board.
And I can't make it work because of the F12 button orange light is on.
All the drivers were installed for the 622anhmw Dual Band Board.
I think is a compatibility issue betwen laptop and Wifi bord.
In the Laptop Specs are only the next compatible adapters. All of them are single Band.
Support for the following WLAN formats:
● Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combination
Adapter
● Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0+HS
combination adapter
● Intel Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 802.11b/g/n 2×2 WiFi and Bluetooth
Combination Adapter
● Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter and AR3012
Bluetooth 4.0 Combination Adapter (select models only)
● Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter (select models only)
● Ralink RT5390R 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter
● Ralink RT5390BC8 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS Combo Adapter

Hi:
Your model might have a BIOS whitelist.
Try this card, which you should be able to find very cheaply in used but tested and working condition on eBay.
Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth4.0 Adapter
HP part # 730668-001
Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Thanks Paul,
After reading your message about Bios Withelist.
I will drop this and try to put the Intel Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 802.11b/g/n 2×2 WiFi and Bluetooth Combination Adapter.
I found one locally and forget about this.
Is a pity for this Bios Withelist.
Thanks for support.

You're very welcome.
The Intel 2230 is only a single band wifi card.
Anytime you see a wifi N card with a suffix that ends in b/g/n, that means it is a single band (2.4 GHz only) wifi card.
Dual band wifi N cards have suffixes that end in a/b/g/n or a/g/n.
