Hi @Rick416,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

As I understand, you have an issue with the OMEN 16-ap0000 with the Realtek RTL8852BE-VT Wi-Fi 6 adapter disconnecting on 5 GHz:

Why It Happens

  • Known driver instability with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) on some routers.
  • Power-saving settings are causing the adapter to drop connections.
  • Firmware/driver mismatch after Windows updates.

Recommended Fixes

1. Update the Realtek Wi-Fi Driver

2. Change Advanced Adapter Settings

  • Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Network Adapters → Realtek 8852BE.
  • Right-click → Properties → Advanced
    • 802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6 ModeDisable (forces Wi-Fi 5 for stability).
    • Preferred Band5 GHz (or Auto if already set).
  • Under Power Management, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

3. Adjust Power Plan

  • Go to Control Panel → Power Options → Change plan settings → Advanced.
  • Under Wireless Adapter Settings → Power Saving Mode, set to Maximum Performance.

4. Update BIOS & Chipset

  • From the same HP driver page, update BIOS and Intel Chipset drivers.

5. Router Settings

  • If possible, set your router to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) mode instead of Wi-Fi 6.
  • Ensure channel width is set to 20/40 MHz for 5 GHz.
